CLASS ONE - UNDER 1000cc UNMODIFIED MINIS
This class is restricted to Minis where no modifications are allowed, apart from those required for safety regulations. This is a well supported class at club and national level and is probably the cheapest way into a motor sport for a beginner. For obvious reasons this is the only class that the Junior's (12-16 year olds) are allowed to compete in.

CLASS TWO - UP TO 1300cc FRONT OR REAR WHEEL DRIVE SALOONS
In this class limited engine and suspension modifications are allowed, but to ensure fairness, the carburettor has a 32mm intake restrictor plate fitted. Escorts and Toyota Starlets tend to dominate this class but Vauxhall Novas, Fiestas and Nissan Micras are making their presence felt, the latter winning the 1999 Men's National Champion of Champions.

CLASS THREE - FRONT ENGINED REAR WHEEL DRIVE SALOONS OVER 1421cc
With any engine allowed in any body shell, with the maximum of two valves per cylinder this is often thought of as the hot rod class. With plenty of sideways action from this well supported class, you can see escorts and hybrid cars such as Ford or Vauxhall powered Toyota Starlets.

CLASS FOUR - MODIFIED SALOONS UP TO 1130cc
This is the smallest of the fully modified classes, the only restriction being that the engine must be of that sold in that make of car. Careful balancing and engine preparation makes this a successful class at club and national level.

CLASS FIVE - MODIFIED SALOONS 1131cc - 1420cc
Lightweight front wheel drive minis tend to dominate this class but with any engines being in any body shell, you will see a varied variety of small saloons with a mid-engined configuration.

CLASS SIX - MODIFIED FRONT WHEEL DRIVE SALOON OVER 1421cc
Once again the light weight minis with engines of 1421cc upwards take a lot of beating but 16 valve Novas, big engined Fiestas, Golfs and Peugeots are now making their presence in this class.

CLASS SEVEN - MODIFIED REAR WHEEL DRIVE SALOONS OVER 1421cc
This class is probably the greatest crowd pleaser at club and national level; these are the ultimate super saloons. The idea is to find the smallest body shell and cram the largest engine in and drive it with your foot to the floor. You will see Golfs, Fiestas, and Metros as you have never seen them before, with V* or V6 engines and often super chargers or turbo chargers sitting where the rear seats should be.

CLASS EIGHT - SPECIAL UP TO 1420cc
It is rare to see two Autograss specials the same, as most of them are home designed and built with some superb engineered cars. They are similar to single seater circuit racing cars and sometimes based on the Formula Ford racing. This class can produce close and fast racing with most of the cars being powered by high revving and widely available motorbike engines.

CLASS NINE - 1421cc - 2065cc SPECIAL
One of the best supported special classes mainly due to the availability of affordable engines such as Ford Pinto or Fiat engines, giving plenty of power in the near standard form.

CLASS TEN - OVER 2065cc SPECIAL
With no limits on engine capacity these machines are the ultimate of Autograss racing, V6 and V8 engines dominate the lightweight mid engined single seater car, although smaller engined cars can often challenge successfully.
